There are a lot of misconceptions out there about travel agents and I'm here to clear up some of those this morning. Read below to find out:
1. Their services are 100% free to use - Any good travel agent will not charge you to use their services, why? Because travel agents are walking and talking marketing for the products they book. When you book a vacation through a travel agent, that agent makes a small commission off of your trip. They have access to a vast array of discounts and savings exclusive to travel agents only - One of the biggest perks for me when I book a vacation is being able to save the most money as possible why still making sure I get a quality vacation for my family. A travel agent knows this and expects you want the same thing as well. Who doesn't want the most bang for their buck right? A travel agent will spend countless hours scouring all the discounts and savings they are privy to just to make sure you get the best price possible on your unforgettable vacation. The best part? You don't have to spend those hours searching because your trusty travel agent is doing it for you!!
3. They offer excellent customer service and concierge services to take care of your every want and need - Travel agents want to make your vacation the best ever and because of that they want to do the majority of the work for you! Travel agents are the best at taking your wants and needs for a vacation and putting them into a plan of action so the stress of planning a vacation is virtually non-existent. Plus, most travel agents have extensive knowledge about the products they are offering either by going on vacations themselves or going to conferences to learn about the products. This means that things you haven't even thought of for your vacation a travel agent is right there with you to help you have the best vacation ever!
4. They can help navigate any hiccups that arise on your vacation - We have all had those nightmare trips where our luggage is lost upon arrival or we booked a dining reservation and when we arrive to eat the restaurant has no knowledge of our reservation. These are often very stressful pinpoints and can certainly damper anyone's vacation. A great travel agent is only ever a phone call, email, or text away. They can work directly with the hotel, restaurant, or any other vendor you are having trouble with to get a solution quickly. This means that you can go on with your vacation, making memories, and when you return a solution should be waiting for you.
5. Travel Agents rely on their clients to earn income - Without clients a travel agent has zero income! This reason alone should motivate your travel agent to provide the best service and meet most of your needs and wants and even exceed those. Without you travel agents would not have a job, simply put. Therefore, the best tip I can give you is your travel agent should be over the moon to work with you. They should go above and beyond and help you plan the best vacation for your family.
